About Us

The Sweet Stash is a labor of love for owners Whitney and Vaughn May. All goods are baked fresh daily at their commercial kitchen in Franklin and sold at The Sweet Stash’s shop, located at the Nashville Farmers Market. Whitney is in the kitchen while Vaughn handles much of the day-to-day business.

Whitney has been baking since she can remember, but really began developing her own recipes as a teenager. Growing up in Washington State, there was always an abundance of fresh, natural ingredients and environmental inspiration. Baking has always been her passion, but in 2008 she and her husband decided to make it their business.

Because the business is ‘all in the family’, The Sweet Stash goes above and beyond to ensure the quality and flexibility of service exceeds customer expectations.  At The Sweet Stash, the focus is on creativity and precision, so each cupcake is hand-crafted, each truffle hand-dipped, fresh when you order.

Meet Diane!

She is from Jasper, Indiana, and grew up in a large family of seven. Diane originally came to Tennessee to play basketball and volleyball at Tennessee Tech University. It was there that she met her husband Edd. They were married in 2004 and added sweet Emerson to their family in 2013. Her professional background includes retail management, working at an accounting firm, baking and recipe development. Diane had been a customer at The Sweet Stash for some time, and always joked with Whitney about coming to work for her, as she aimed to work for a local, family-owned business. After having Emerson she was seeking a part-time baking position, and the stars finally aligned. She has been an integral part of The Sweet Stash for over a year now! Diane is passionate about creating, and has come up with several customer favorites — Cookie Dough Dream Bars, anyone?! So while you may not see her at the shop often (you might spot her at Night Market!), rest assured she is working hard to create desserts you will not soon forget. When she is not baking, Diane and her family enjoy the food scene in Nashville and like to try new restaurants regularly. Just recently Diane started selling Nerium skincare as well. It has worked wonders for her! You can find more info on that at dihaynes.nerium.com

The Carmeans have been married since 2011 and both enjoy hunting for treasures at the flea market and repurposing junk into treasure! Leah loves Kentucky basketball and responds to the nickname “Pony”. She can’t wait to meet every single one of you!

The Sweet Stash seemed like the perfect fit for her and she is so happy and blessed to be a part of the team. Moving from Texas two years ago, to Tennessee, Courtney has fallen in love with Nashville and couldn’t be happier to be here.
